Swim for Scuba
On Saturday 10th October 2009 an enthusiatic team of Grafham Grange staff completed their Swim For Scuba. Kelly, Kim, Kay, Sammy, Grant, Carina, Tina and referee Sandra took time out of their weekend to take part in the sponsored swim.
The group was split into teams and completed relay races. Races included paddling on surf boards, straddling lilos, feet first swimming and swimming whilst holding a ball between their legs!! It surprised them all at how tiring the races were!!
They cheered each other on, especially at the last race when the scores were even. Well done to the Blue team who won - but they agreed it was not the winning but the taking part that counts!
A total of £400 was raised towards the Scuba Club at Grafham Grange - well done all!

The CEO, Head of Children’s Services, Head Teacher of Brantridge and Principal of Grafham Grange attended the recent NASS conference in Manchester.
This was an excellent conference which resulted in the CEO being unanimously elected to the position of Vice Chair of the NASS Council (Trustees). This has a term of two years after which she will assume the role of Chair for the following two years.
One of the Top 20 Schools
At first we appointed light monitors, (we had already set up our own “Recycling Team”, 9 months earlier) asked the Trust for our Gas/Elec usage, and filled in a CO2 form, giving us, up to date Co2 emissions for Woodyer House. A teacher, who has now left for a sunnier climate, followed lesson plans from Generation Green, all these activities, including Leaf donations from staff and friends of the school, assisted us in achieving the Woodyer House target.
Once reached, we had a group meeting and have so far been able to order from Generation Green:
2 bikes
2 Helmets
2 sets of lights
2 locks
Potato growing kit
2 Fork & Trowels
7 Apple Trees (various sorts)
1 Pear Tree
Two weeks after ordering these items that we had won for achieving our target, Woodyer received a phone call to inform us that we had become the 8th Secondary school in the UK to hit our target, and that we had now won “Solar Panelling” for our school.
